The Range of the board is impacted by many factors:

1. user's weight
2. temperature outside (If the temperature is below 45F, the battery capacity could drop by 30% or more)
3. hills and slopes
4. acceleration and brake frequency
5. wind or other road resistances
6. Wheels Sizes

Our listed range on the website is normally based on: a 165 lbs rider that rides it on flat ground with most ECO mode and some Sport mode and not very frequent accelerations and breaks. 

It depends on the Charger and Battery Capacity. For examples:

• 5AH battery, 1.5A standard charger, it takes about 3 hours.
• 5AH battery, 2.5A fast charger, it takes about 2 hours. 
• 6AH battery, 2.5A fast charger, it takes about 2.5 hours
• 14Ah battery( Ranger X1), 2.5A faster charger, it takes about 6 hours.

Yes. All Backfire Boards have regenerative braking. While traveling downhill and braking, you'll get some energy back into the battery.

Warning: Please do not do downhill while the battery is full or close to full, it will get an overvoltage warning, and it will potentially damage the battery if you continue riding. The board could also shut off with the overvoltage protection program if you ignore the warning message, causing the risk of fall. Please always stop and check when you get a warning message. The over-voltage warning will automatically go away if you stop going downhill or ride on flat ground, and you can continue using the board then.

The boards are NOT waterproof. Backfire's IP65 water-resistant rating enables riders to use the board through a small puddle on dry roads. You cannot use the board during the rain, on wet/icy grounds; or sink the board into the water. Water could damage your battery, esc, motors, or even the bearings in the wheels too.

Kindly Warning: If there was potential risk of water damage to the battery before, please disconnect the battery from the board immediately and stop charging it or use it! Keep the battery in a dry and fire resistant place to avoid potential fire risk (such as a sealled bucket outdoor).  Please do not ship a damaged battery. A Li-ion battery store and release its electrical energy through electrochemical reactions. When electrical energy is drawn/discharged from the battery, lithium ions move from one electrode to the other. The electrodes are submerged in a liquid called an electrolyte, which allows for the movement of ions and consists of lithium salt and organic solvents. It is these organic solvents which are the leading fire hazard in Li-ion batteries. Furthermore, the positively charged electrode (cathode) in the battery contains oxygen, which may be released if the battery is subjected to specific stresses, e.g., internal short, excessive heat, and more. This means that the Li-ion batteries have all the elements needed to self-sustain a fire. 

Water damage is NOT covered under our warranty.

We recommend you maintain the board in good dry condition always, which will extend the life of it much longer. 

The majority of our parts suppliers are in China, and the boards are assembled in China. Certain parts might be imported from other countries such as Caliber trucks contain materials made in the USA. 

We recommend the user's age to be 14 years and up. Children under 14 years need to be under an adult's supervision and permission to use our product. Please make sure you always wear a helmet and your personal protective gear. Do not ride the board out of your skill level and always care about your surroundings and follow your local traffic law. 

We only accept returns within 30 days in brand New condition with all accessories in the original packaging, customer needs to pay for return shipping cost to our closest facility advised by our support team. The company will provide a refund for the Product(s), not including any shipping charges. Follow the below steps to return the Product(s) purchased through our Website within fourteen (14) days of the date that we deliver the applicable Product (s):

1. Contact our Support team (In China or the U.S.) to initiate the return process and obtain authorization to submit the product(s) for return.
2. Create a shipping label addressed to “Backfire Returns” and make sure to include the original order no on the shipping label or in the package.
3. Pack the product(s) in the original packaging to ensure the product(s) will be returned without damage.
4. Once the package is received by us and confirmed to be in brand new condition, we will issue the refund less the shipping charge in three (3) business days with an email confirmation. If the board is actually used or damaged in return, a 15% restocking fee & cost of damaged parts will be deducted from the refund.

We do NOT refund once the board is shipped unless the board is returned in brand new condition within 30 days. The customer has to pay for the return shipping cost. No shipping fee will be refunded.

For returns, we will refund the product excluding shipping cost after we receive the returned product(s). Refund normally takes 2 to 3 business days for domestic bank cards or 4 to 5 business days for International bank cards.

• We offer a 6 month (180 days) limited warranty on general Backfire Electric Skateboards from the date when you receive the product. 1 year (365 days) limited warranty for specific models such as Ranger X3 and Hammer Sledge.  
• Parts purchased from Backfire separately have a 90 days warranty. If a defect arises during the Warranty Period, Company will, at is options:
• Send the new or equivalent parts to replace the defective parts. Most of the parts are fairly easy to be replaced with our video instructions.
• Exchange the affected Products with functionally equivalent Products that are new or formed from new and/or previously used parts that are equivalent to new in performance and reliability. This warranty excludes normal depletion of consumable parts (grip tape, wheels & bearings) unless due to a defect in materials or workmanship, and damage resulting from abuse, accident, modifications, unauthorized repairs, neglect, abuse, water damage, or other causes that are not defects in materials and workmanship.  

Manufacturer's warranty applies exclusively to new complete skateboards purchased from Backfire Skateboards website, Official Amazon store, eBay store, and our authorized retailers. Skateboards purchased elsewhere (unauthorized reseller), used condition or second-hand are NOT covered under our standard limited warranty. Backfire Skateboards reserves the final right to explain the details of the above policy.

Please always read our warning mark before you start using our product, make sure you always wear a helmet and your personal protective gear just in case. Please make sure you get used to the board before you speed up. Do not ride the board out of your skills level and always care about your surroundings. Please do not ride the board in wet conditions.

1. Be sure to wear protective gear and a helmet when using this electric skateboard.
2. There are risks of serious or fatal injury from collision, loss of control, and unexpected falls while using this electric skateboard. It is your sole responsibility to learn safely to ride this electric skateboard to reduce the risks: please read our user’s manual carefully and learn how to turn, accelerate and brake this electric skateboard. Backfire recommends you start with the beginner’s (low speed) mode first before using the sports (high speed) mode. Please use this electric skateboard reasonably within the control of your own abilities. Do not use this electric skateboard on dangerous road sections or big downhills. Do not use this electric skateboard at night or poor visibility environment to avoid accidents. Backfire will not be responsible for any loss or damage caused by the user in accidents.
3. Children under 14 years old must use this electric skateboard under the adult’s supervision; or please place the product where children can't reach.
4. Please abide by local traffic regulations and laws to ride this electric skateboard; please respect other drivers and pedestrians on the road.
5. Please do frequent maintenance checks: before riding makes sure screws are tight and wheels are in good conditions. Do not charge the battery if the board and battery are wet. Please make sure to keep the board in dry conditions before charging. 
6. Please do not open the battery or controller cases without direction from Backfire tech support, please do not modify the wiring or controller, please do not install the electric parts from other suppliers to the Backfire electric skateboard, which will terminate the warranty immediately.

It is solely customers' responsibility to check your local legal requirement of the electric vehicles and electric skateboards before you purchase and use them, the laws and regulations vary by countries, states, or counties. 

When we have stock in the California warehouse, We will ship via UPS or FedEx Ground and Home delivery service domestically in the USA. the transit time is generally 3 to 5 business days.

When we do not have stock in the California warehouse: Your order will ship from China

INTERNATIONAL AIR SHIPPING FROM CHINA:

In the case that the California warehouse is out of stock (which we state on the product page or via other notices), we will process the order and ship the package directly from China to you with an email notification of the tracking number as well. The transit time could vary from 7 to 20 business days via Air shipping. In most countries, our final price includes the import fee, duty, and taxes.

The whole process of Air shipping from China could take :

• 7 to 15 business days to the United States
• 12 to 20 business days to European countries
• 15 to 20 business days to Canada
• 12 to 20 business days to Australia and New Zealand
• 7 to 10 business days to other Asia countries

There are some extra steps for international shipping because UPS and FedEx do not accept such big battery products via direct air shipping from China mainland. We have to use special air cargo planes from Hong Kong. Details are as below:

• We send the packages from our factory to the forwarder's warehouse in Shenzhen
• Our forwarder print and put the UPS/FedEx label on the package
• Meantime, forwarder feedback the tracking number to Backfire, our team update in the order and notify the customer.
• Forwarder moves these packages to Hong Kong airport and books the air cargo airplane from Hong Kong to Germany, USA or other destination counties.
• Packages have to go through the German or Belgium customs in the EU or go through customs in California of the USA, and customs in other countries. (customs clearance is out of our control, which could take as smooth as 2 business days or as long as a couple of weeks depending on the situation)
• Packages pass customs clearance and will be sent to UPS or FedEx or local carriers. ( Customers will see the tracking number update on the carrier’s website at this point)
• Normally, UPS/FedEx make the final delivery via ground shipping within 2 to 5 days in the USA or similar transit time in destination countries.

INTERNATIONAL SEA SHIPPING FROM CHINA:

Sea shipping takes about 35 to 40 days in total. It is generally with the lowest price, but slowest transit time since we have to accumulate the orders in volume and put hundreds of packages together on a boat to the USA or Europe. Once our USA or Germany warehouse receives the container, we will send them out via ground shipping.  

You normally will receive a tracking number showing from the local warehouse 5 or 7 days before you receive your package. Sometimes, we print the labels early, so our warehouse could turn around the packages quicker. Please kindly wait for your tracking update when the carrier picks up the package.  

Free Shipping to China, USA (lower 48 states) for majority of our Electric Skateboards and Longboards. There will be a small shipping fee for parts and accessories.

Extra shipping fees for the following areas or countries:

Hawaii, Alaska and Puerto Rico, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Australia, Norway, Switzerland, Philippines, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, and the UK. 

To see your shipping costs, select the product, accessories. and put in your address. Our system will calculate the shipping costs so that you can see them before you make payment. You don’t need to enter payment information to see how much the shipping will be.

If the shipping country is not on the list, we can not ship to your country at this point due to our logistics partner's limits or other reasons. 

Our final price (always in USD, subject to currency exchange rates) include the import fee, duty, and taxes for most countries with some exceptions below: 

• No extra tax will be charged for US and EU customers as the board has taxes pre-paid when they enter that territory. (Tax however might be charged for customers in New Zealand/Norway/Switzerland/South Korea/ United Kingdom by local government)
• Spare or replacement parts not covered under warranty which is shipped to EU/NZ/AU will need to pay import and VAT at the regional rate by customer.
• Note: For New Zealand customers, we might have to ship your board in two consignments due to the battery shipping restrictions to NZ. We will ship your board without the battery in the first package, and then ship the battery and remote in a second package to comply with the legislation. Install the battery enclosure to the board is fairly easy with few plugs in and 6 screws to the deck, which could be done by most users in about 5 minutes.
